Sport New Mexico's leadership in the greatest frontier.
From the earliest native explorers as far back as 9200 BC, to the Spanish in the 16th century, to today's modern explorers, New Mexico has always truly been the Land of Exploration.
New Mexico' involvement in exploring the ultimate frontier in space began with Robert Goddard's rocket experiments in Roswell in the 1930's. This work continues to this day at White Sands Missile Range including the 1982 landing of the Space Shuttle at White Sands. Modern explorers have set-up shop at Spaceport America, South of T or C, as we take our first steps in commercial space travel on our way to Mars.
